19-Year-Old Keeps Grenade Under Pillow, Hopes to Surprise Girlfriend on Valentine's Day

A 19-year-old named 'A' was arrested by police in Buriram province after being found in possession of a deadly HDGR 73 grenade manufactured in Austria. The young car paint shop worker had purchased the grenade for 1,000 baht three months ago from a 33-year-old man named Wut from Surin province. He claimed he collected weapons since childhood and planned to surprise his girlfriend of one month with the grenade on Valentine's Day instead of roses. Police charged him with illegal possession of explosive weapons and coordinated with the EOD unit to destroy the grenade.
