Violent Youth Gang Chases and Shoots Teen at Funeral, Attacks Homeowners During Molam Performance

Police are searching for a violent youth gang who chased and shot at a young man during a Molam performance on February 6, 2024. Police Major General Sarayuth Cham-phiw from Nam Som Police Station in Udon Thani reported that the incident involved youth from different villages who had gathered for a large community event. The 20-year-old victim was watching a Molam performance and walking to retrieve his motorcycle when a group of youths approached and fired at least 8 gunshots at him. He fled to a nearby funeral home, but the gang followed and continued to assault him with fists, knees, and chairs. A 78-year-old homeowner was also injured during the chaotic confrontation. The police are reviewing CCTV footage and gathering evidence to identify and arrest the perpetrators.
