Lottery Office Clarifies Lottery Barcode Purpose and Limitations
On February 18, 2026, Major General Nun Sansanom, Director of the Government Lottery Office, revealed that the 2D barcodes on six-digit lottery tickets are designed to prevent counterfeiting. The barcodes allow buyers to verify basic ticket information such as draw date, lottery number, and series. However, these barcodes cannot identify the specific buyer or owner. Buyers are advised to sign the back of the ticket, take photos, and remember the ticket details in case of loss or for claiming prizes.
