Orange Party Candidate Explains Why Mosquito Spraying Will Not Be Conducted
Kant'pong Prayunsak, a potential Bangkok representative for the People's Party, shared insights about mosquito spraying through his Facebook page. He explained that currently, mosquito spraying is a district responsibility, typically done for free only when dengue fever cases emerge to break transmission cycles. For regular mosquitoes, spraying can cause drug resistance and significant health impacts, with toxic substances remaining in the environment for seven days. Vulnerable groups like children, elderly, bedridden patients, and work-from-home individuals can continuously inhale these toxins. He emphasized that elected officials who care about people should provide medical information, prevention strategies, and help eliminate breeding sites using abate sand, rather than conducting indiscriminate spraying that affects entire communities.
