Army and Police Raid Scammer Base at Chong Chom Border Checkpoint, Uncover Elaborate Fraud Scheme
On February 20, Major General Teeranant Nantakhwang, head of military intelligence, and Police Major General Atthasit Sudsanguan, representing the National Police Office, led a coordinated team to investigate a scammer base at the Chong Chom permanent border crossing in Kabchoeng District, Surin Province. The team divided into four groups to comprehensively examine the area. They discovered a large-scale scammer operation with extensive equipment and documents used for fraud, including impersonating government officials, investment scams, and complex deception methods targeting multiple countries. Investigators also found staged locations mimicking government agencies and international financial institutions designed to trick victims. The military confirmed its commitment to supporting the police investigation and combating criminal activities to enhance national security.
