Remembering Luang Pu Muen: 147th Birth Anniversary at Bang Kok Bua Temple

On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, a memorial will be held to honor the 147th birth anniversary of Phra Khru Komut Samankun, also known as Luang Pu Muen Tissaro from Bang Kok Bua Temple in Phra Pradaeng, Samut Prakan. Born as Muen Purabuna on February 18, 1879, he was a highly respected Buddhist monk known for his wisdom, medical skills, and herbal treatments. Throughout his monastic life, he served the Buddhist community and local people, becoming famous for his traditional herbal medicine known as 'green medicine' and his magical amulets. He passed away peacefully on December 15, 1961, at the age of 82, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and spiritual leadership.
