Hot News About Amulets - Luang Por Thong Medal from Wat Khao Takrao, Phetchaburi Province
A legendary tale tells of five Buddhist statues miraculously coming from the north, floating down the Chao Phraya River over 200 years ago. These five statues were believed to have been sent by people in Ayutthaya to escape enemy forces during a time of war, displaying supernatural powers as they drifted along the river and occasionally appearing miraculously to onlookers.
The statues included Luang Por Sothon, Luang Por Ban Laem, Luang Por To of Wat Bang Phli Yai Nai, Luang Por of Wat Khao Takrao, and Luang Por of Wat Rai Khing.
Luang Por Thong from Wat Khao Takrao in Bang Krok Subdistrict, Ban Laem District, Phetchaburi Province is a sacred Buddhist statue renowned and respected since ancient times, famous for granting wishes and bringing success to those who pay respects.
Numerous sacred amulets have been created, all highly sought after and praised by those who worship them. The 1925 stamped medal is particularly valued for its clarity and precision of design. However, the first true medal was the 1922 ancient cast medal, known as the 'four-sided Bodhi leaf' medal.
Currently, these medals are extremely rare, and Luang Por Thong is considered one of the legendary 'floating Buddhist statues' with a rich historical narrative dating back to the Ayutthaya period.
