Ariya World 6 - Commemorating 117 Years of Luang Por Nueng's Birth
On Saturday, February 14, 2026, a memorial will be held to commemorate the 117th birth anniversary of Luang Por Nueng Kovito (also known as Phra Khru Kovit Samut Khun) from Chula Mani Temple in Bang Chang, Amphawa, Samut Songkhram. He was a famous Buddhist master from the Mae Klong River lineage who gained significant recognition over 20 years ago.
He was a prominent disciple of several notable monks, including Luang Por Kong of Wat Bang Kapom, Luang Por Chaem of Chula Mani Temple, and Luang PuJai of Wat Sadet. His sacred objects were highly popular.
Born as Nueng Thao Suwan on February 14, 1909, in Klong Yai Village, he completed primary education in 1920. At 23, he was ordained as a monk on July 29, 1932, at Wat Bang Kapom. Throughout his life, he became renowned for his expertise in Buddhist teachings, meditation, and mystical practices, receiving numerous ecclesiastical ranks and earning deep respect from local communities.
