Hot News on Buddhist Amulets - Head of Pali Examination Warns Against Corruption and Misconduct in Monastic Community
On February 12, 2026, Phra Phrommolee (Suchart Dhammarat) from Wat Paknam, a Supreme Sangha Council member, chaired the first Pali and Buddhist Studies examination for advanced levels, aiming to boost morale for exam committees and participating monks and novices.
During the event, Sombat Pimson, an inspector from the National Office of Buddhism, accompanied officials to visit the exam sites. Phra Phrommolee emphasized that the examination's purpose is to assess Buddhist scriptural knowledge and create capable religious successors who understand Buddhist teachings and can effectively spread them.
He strongly warned against cheating, stating that while wanting to pass is normal, students must maintain integrity. He explicitly prohibited bringing books, documents, electronic devices, communication tools, or any unauthorized items into the exam room. The key message was that academic dishonesty not only damages individual reputation but also brings dishonor to the entire monastic community.
'Wanting to pass is normal, but do not cheat. Books, documents, electronic devices, and communication tools are strictly forbidden in the exam room - even watches are not allowed. Cheating will only bring disgrace, with no benefits,' Phra Phrommolee stressed.
