Worker Arrested After Attempted Robbery and Sexual Assault in Chonburi

A shocking incident occurred on the evening of February 1st in the Huai Yai sub-district of Bang Lamung district, Chonburi province. A 26-year-old woman from Prachinburi was riding near Chao MaeSakorn Mountain when a worker named Somchit, 39, attempted to rob her. When he found no valuables, he tried to sexually assault her by dragging her into the forest. The victim managed to escape in a state of undress and sought help from good Samaritans who assisted her and contacted police. After an intensive 10-hour investigation, police tracked down Somchit at a labor camp in Ban Bueng district. The suspect was precisely identified due to the victim's accurate description of his teeth. He was arrested and charged with attempted robbery and sexual assault under threat and violence.
