Nattapong Open to Klam Tham Joining Opposition, Asks for Strong Government Oversight
On February 16, 2024, at the Ratchada Criminal Court, Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the People's Party, commented on Bhumjaithai Party's attempts to push Klam Tham into the opposition. He stated that there are no significant obstacles, as opposition parties do not necessarily need to work in complete unity. The key goal is for opposition parties to strongly scrutinize the government.
Regarding the Election Commission's investigation of election volunteers who photographed ballots with barcodes, Nattapong believes the investigation should be conducted honestly. He expressed concerns about the Election Commission's threat to prosecute people under the Computer Crime Act, emphasizing that photographing pre-voting stages is not illegal.
The People's Party is prepared to pursue legal actions and support transparency, calling on the Election Commission to release information and clarify concerns about potential data leaks during the voting process.
