Parents Rush to File Complaint Against Deputy Abbot for Molesting Multiple Novice Monks
On February 12th, parents gathered at a temple in Ratchaburi province to investigate allegations of sexual abuse against a deputy abbot who has since disappeared from the temple. Multiple parents reported that their sons, who had been novice monks at the temple for approximately a year, were victims of sexual abuse. The parents discovered the incidents after their children expressed a desire to disrobe and leave the monastic life. Upon further investigation at the hospital, it was revealed that multiple children who had been novice monks at the same temple had been sexually abused. Parents are determined to pursue the case to prevent potential future incidents and protect other children. The local tambon chief, Werayuth Suksangiem, stated that the temple views this as a personal matter and the deputy abbot has already left the temple.
