Royal Institute Launches Academic Forum to Address Climate Crisis in Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry
The Royal Institute, through its Science Bureau, in partnership with Kasetsart University's Sri Racha Campus, Fisheries Faculty, and Research Institute, is organizing an academic forum on 'The Future of Thai Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry Under Climate Crisis' on February 11, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM at Phak Phirun Hotel. The event will be livestreamed via Zoom to analyze the structural impacts of climate change on the country's primary production sectors. The symposium comes amid intensifying climate change, directly affecting agricultural, fisheries, and forestry production through rising temperatures, erratic rainfall, and extreme weather events like droughts, flash floods, and heat waves, which impact production, production costs, food security, and natural resource sustainability. The event will feature lectures by distinguished experts, including a special keynote on 'Agriculture-Fisheries-Forestry: Turning Global Heating Risks into Opportunities' by Associate Professor Dr. Vissanu Arttavanich. Participants can attend both on-site and online, with the goal of producing a Policy Brief and practical guidelines for future policy development.
