We Watch Urges Election Commission to Take Responsibility for Election Mismanagement
We Watch called on the Election Commission (ECT) to take responsibility for the numerous errors and irregularities in the recent election. At 10:00 AM on February 16, 2024, We Watch and civil society networks delivered a letter and read a joint statement demanding accountability. The organization highlighted significant problems that fundamentally challenged election management principles, including issues such as changes in official slogans, inconsistent vote counting, and limited public access to election data. The group pointed out that the election budget of approximately 7.824 billion baht should have been sufficient to conduct a transparent and rigorous election process. We Watch proposed urgent measures, including full disclosure of election results, publishing official vote counts, and providing complete documentation for public verification.
