Oil Tanker Explodes Near School in Khon Kaen, Students Safely Evacuated

KHON KAEN — An oil tanker exploded near a petrol station close to Sri Kranuan School in Kranuan district, Khon Kaen, on the morning of February 2nd, 2026, triggering a large fire and prompting an immediate student evacuation. Thick black smoke billowed into the sky, with intermittent explosions reported, leading authorities to secure the area for safety. School teachers quickly moved students to a safe location away from the incident site. Firefighters from nearby areas deployed multiple fire engines, using water and foam to contain the blaze and prevent its spread to surrounding areas.
