Half-Foreign Student Speaks Out: Unable to Graduate After Paying Tuition, Receives Fake Receipt, School Denies Responsibility
A 25-year-old half-Thai, half-African student named Miriam has filed a complaint with police in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province, alleging that a deputy director of a prominent college embezzled her tuition fees and issued a fake receipt. After graduating in 2567 (2024) with a vocational certificate in Foreign Languages, she transferred tuition fees to the deputy director's personal account and received what appeared to be legitimate receipts. However, the college refuses to issue her graduation certificate, claiming she still owes 22,000 baht in tuition. Miriam insists she has paid in full and that over 10 other students have experienced similar issues. The college has now stated they are pursuing legal action against the former deputy director and are willing to help students resolve their certificate issues by having them file a police report and authorize the school to track the stolen funds.
