Russia 'Launches Massive Attack on Ukraine' Days After Trump Claims Putin Promised to Pause
On February 3rd, Reuters reported that Russian forces fired over 60 missiles and deployed around 450 drones attacking Ukraine, including Kyiv, in the early morning hours. The attack resulted in damage to apartments and multiple buildings, with two people reported injured. Timur Tkachenko, Kyiv's military administration head, reported damage to apartments, commercial buildings, and educational facilities in the eastern Dnipro region. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko noted that the attack caused a fire at a kindergarten. Igor Terekov, mayor of Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, confirmed repeated drone and missile attacks. Additional explosions were reported in Dnipro and Sumy. These actions occurred just days after U.S. President Donald Trump claimed Russian President Vladimir Putin had agreed not to attack Kyiv and other cities for one week due to extremely cold weather.
