Foreign National Arrested for Destroying Campaign Posters, Claims Misunderstanding
A foreign national was arrested for destroying campaign posters for Suthat Misiri, a parliamentary candidate from the People's Party in Nonthaburi. The incident occurred over two consecutive days, with 8 campaign posters damaged near a village on Klong Road in Bang Yai District. A 61-year-old German national was identified through CCTV footage and claimed he mistook the posters for obstructive advertisements that might cause him to trip while exercising. After police mediation, the foreign national apologized and offered 2,000 baht in compensation, which led the candidate to drop the charges and continue his campaign.
