Exposed: Election Voter Verification Website Lacks Security, Personal Data Leaks
On February 14, 2024, Thanarat Kuawattanaphan, CEO of Dom Cloud Company, posted on Facebook about a critical security breach in the election voter verification website. A white hacker revealed that the system has no cybersecurity measures, causing nationwide voter information leakage. The exposed data includes citizen ID numbers, first names, voting list sequences for both MPs and referendums, voting provinces, districts, and polling units. Particularly concerning is the voting list sequence, which can be easily traced to individual votes. Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the People's Party and prime ministerial candidate, noted that 2/3 of the potentially compromising information is already publicly visible, including ballot photographs and voter list sequences. He argues that the Election Commission's claims of a transparent and secret election process are impractical.
