Mai Thanaporn Challenges: Why Didn't Previous Parties Reform Social Security When Promising to Do So?
During a campaign rally on January 30, 2024, at Industrial Park 304 in Si Maha Pho District, Prachinburi Province, Thanaporn Wijun, a list MP candidate for the People's Party, delivered a speech criticizing the lack of real action on labor issues.
Thanaporn highlighted that the People's Party has been consistently working to address labor problems since the Future Forward Party days. She cited achievements like extending maternity leave from 90 to 120 days, which would not have happened without their party's efforts.
The candidate promised to reform social security, ensuring insured workers can participate in management oversight. She directly challenged other parties, asking why they have not implemented reforms despite repeated election promises.
Thanathorn added that this election is not about becoming the opposition, but about forming the government. He emphasized the need to win all three constituency MP seats in Prachinburi to significantly defeat the second-ranked party and prevent them from forming a competing government.
