Special Report - Medals and Sacred Amulets of Luang Pho Phit, Revered Monk of Wat Kha Mang
Luang Pho Phit, a famous monk from Wat Kha Mang in Phichit province, was renowned for his extraordinary magical knowledge and spiritual expertise. Born as Phit Khaminthakun on March 14, 1875, he was the son of Khun Hiran Sombat and Lady Pui. At age 22, he was ordained as a monk in 1897 at Wat Bueng Takon, with several senior monks presiding over his ceremony.
Throughout his life, he studied at various temples, including Wat Bang Mulnak, Wat Tha Thanon, and Wat Hua Dong, where he spent the most time. He learned advanced spiritual practices from several master monks, including medical techniques and meditation.
Luang Pho Phit was known for his humble lifestyle, refusing to accumulate wealth and focusing instead on supporting Buddhist institutions. He constructed five ordination halls in different temples and became widely respected for his teachings and sacred amulets.
He passed away peacefully on October 16, 1945, at the age of 70. Interestingly, during his cremation, his eyes miraculously did not burn, leading people to nickname him 'Luang Pho Phit with Fire Eyes'. His sacred amulets, including special talismans and magical charms, remain legendary in Thai Buddhist culture.
