Cyber Police Arrest Telegram Group Admin for Recruiting Members to View Child Pornography
Cyber police conducted a raid and arrested a Telegram group administrator who was recruiting members to access a secret group with child pornographic content.
On February 1st, high-ranking police officials, including Police Lieutenant General Surapon Prembut and Police Major General Theerapon Manmongkol, ordered a team to investigate. Using a court search warrant, they raided a residence in Kamphaeng Phet 6 Alley in the Laksi district and arrested Pongsagon, a 24-year-old suspect.
Seized evidence included two mobile phones, one notebook computer, hard disk drives (HDD), solid-state drives (SSD), and a bank passbook. The suspect was charged with multiple offenses related to computer data transmission, possession, and distribution of child pornographic materials.
The investigation began when police discovered advertisements selling inappropriate content in a Line application group, charging 59 baht for Telegram group access. Undercover officers infiltrated the Telegram group named "Cum This here" and found numerous child pornographic videos.
During questioning, Pongsagon admitted to using a Line account to advertise and recruit members to his Telegram group. He claimed to have been operating for about 3 months, earning approximately 3,000-4,000 baht monthly by collecting and sharing videos from other Telegram groups. He will now face legal prosecution.
