Phoomtham Honors Sacrificing Soldiers, Pushes for Veteran Support and Benefits

On February 3rd, 2026, Phoomtham Wechayachai, Pheu Thai Party leader and former Defense Minister, posted on Facebook honoring soldiers who sacrificed for the nation. When he became Defense Minister, his first priority was visiting the Veterans Organization, believing those who sacrificed for the country deserve honorable treatment. Veterans who stood at the frontlines defending sovereignty have often lost their health, life opportunities, or even their lives during conflicts, including border tensions with Cambodia. Phoomtham emphasized that these sacrifices must not be forgotten, as behind every peaceful moment are the lives, blood, and families of soldiers who took risks for the entire country. During his time as Defense Minister, he pushed several projects including housing programs for retired junior soldiers, career development initiatives for veterans, and increased veteran benefits to support those who served and their families.
