Drug-Crazed Man Arrested for Attempting to Kill Mother and Holding Her Captive

On February 4th, police officers captured Anon, nicknamed 'Puen', aged 26, who was wanted for a warrant from Pak Phanang District Court for unlawful detention and attempted murder of a parent. The incident occurred on November 21, 2023, when Anon became drug-induced and violent at his home in Khlong Krua Sub-district, Pak Phanang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. During the incident, Anon used a large knife to attack his mother and sister. When relatives tried to help, he threatened them and confined his mother inside the house. The mother became extremely stressed and attempted suicide by overdosing. When relatives and neighbors tried to help, Anon obstructed them by brandishing a knife, causing delays in rescue efforts. Police, relatives, and neighbors eventually disarmed Anon and rushed his mother to Maharaj Nakhon Si Thammarat Hospital, where doctors reported her condition as critical and requiring constant respiratory support. Anon had previously been imprisoned for drug-related offenses in 2019 and continued using drugs after his release, leading to this violent episode. Anon was arrested in Khao Hua Khway Sub-district, Phun Phin District, Surat Thani Province, and denied all charges, stating he would fight the case in court.
