Jesada Technik Museum Unveils New Building to Showcase Ancient Khon Masks, Inspired by Rachini School Performance
On February 6th, Dr. Phakphum Detsakulrit, executive board member of the Jesada Technik Museum, revealed that he attended a Khon performance by Rachini School students on January 30th, featuring the Ramayana epic's Phrommat battle scene. Dr. Phakphum praised the high-quality performance and emphasized its importance in preserving Thai cultural arts for youth. He commended the school's management, particularly Principal Supakanya Chavanich, and the dedicated teachers who trained students from primary to high school levels to perform various Khon character roles. Dr. Phakphum highlighted the historical significance of Khon, a sophisticated Thai performance art dating back to the Ayutthaya period, which has been preserved and developed by Thai royalty through different eras. The Jesada Technik Museum has now moved to a new location, developing a mixed museum that not only displays vintage cars but also collects valuable historical and cultural artifacts, including ancient Khon masks to be exhibited in the Tanya and Plern buildings. The museum plans to open to the public in the near future, with updates available on their Facebook page.
