Monk Falls to His Death While Trying to Shake Tamarind Tree
Villagers heard a loud noise of something heavy falling and found a monk who had fallen from a high tamarind tree, resulting in his death. On February 7, 2026, Police Lieutenant Chaiyamongkol Muensond from Khok Samrong Police Station was notified by the assistant village head of Moo 11, Nong Yai Village, about a monk from Nong Yai Charoen Tham Temple falling from a tree and dying. He traveled to the scene with doctors from Khok Samrong Hospital and the local rescue association. At the scene beneath a tamarind tree approximately 8-10 meters high, with villagers gathered around, they found the body of Monk Chusak Srimala, 38, wearing traditional robes, lying on his left side with blood coming from his nose and numerous dried tamarind pods on the ground. After questioning other monks and villagers, it was learned that after the morning meal, everyone had dispersed to their own tasks. No one knew when Monk Chusak had climbed the tamarind tree. They only realized something was wrong when they heard a loud falling sound and discovered his body. The investigating officers instructed rescue workers to transport Monk Chusak's body for further investigation to determine the exact cause of death.
