TISI Intensifies Online Retailer Training for 3 Monitored Products: Hair Dryers, Power Banks, and Extension Plugs
The Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) has partnered with TikTok Shop Thailand to provide intensive training on industrial standards, specifically targeting three high-risk products: hair dryers, power banks, and extension plugs. At the Tech Playground event on February 24, 2026, TISI Secretary-General Eakniti Ramayanon emphasized that this collaboration is a crucial step in promoting online platforms that sell legally compliant, standard products. The event will feature over 100 technology and IT device content creators, providing an excellent opportunity to share knowledge about product standards, quality checks, and legal requirements for online sellers.
TISI is also working with other online platforms like Shopee, Lazada, and LINE Shopping to link product licensing information and enable immediate suspension of non-standard products. They are collaborating with various law enforcement agencies to create a comprehensive system for identifying and preventing the sale of substandard products online.
In the past year, TISI discovered the top five non-standard products sold online, including motorcycle exhaust pipes, power banks, extension plugs, hair dryers, and motorcycle helmets. The agency strongly advises consumers to verify TISI marks and QR codes before purchasing products to ensure safety and quality.
