ATTA Confident Chinese Tourists Will Surge to 7 Million This Year
The Thai Travel Business Association (ATTA) reported an exciting Chinese New Year period, with Chinese tourists consistently reaching 30,000 daily arrivals. Adis Chairatnananon, ATTA's secretary-general, noted that this is significantly higher than the typical 13,000 daily average during low season. If the current momentum continues, they are confident the Chinese tourism market will reach 7 million visitors in 2024. Compared to 2023, which only saw 4.4 million visitors, this represents a substantial recovery. ATTA has also proposed four key recommendations to the new government: closely monitor potential disease outbreaks, ensure tourist safety, stabilize currency exchange rates, and manage potential regional conflicts diplomatically.
