Commerce Ministry Launches Thai Organic Rice Global Market Campaign

Arada Fuengthong, Director-General of the Department of International Trade, revealed that in 2026 the department plans to implement a project promoting and marketing Thai organic rice. The initiative aims to elevate Thai organic rice by showcasing its high quality, environmental friendliness, and appeal to modern global premium market consumers. The department will send a trade delegation to Switzerland and Germany in February 2026 to negotiate market expansion and strengthen trade relationships. They will meet with organic rice organizations and key rice importers to exchange insights on market trends, standards, and consumer preferences. A key highlight of the campaign is the 'Healthy Life by Thai Organic Rice' initiative, which will collaborate with around 10 Thai SELECT certified restaurants in Zurich and Frankfurt. The campaign will run for one week, featuring special menus and promotional activities to showcase Thai organic rice's health benefits, taste, and meticulous production standards. The department also plans to support 12 community enterprises and SMEs in participating in international organic agriculture trade shows, including BIOFACH 2026 in Nuremberg, Germany, and the Natural Products Expo West in the United States. Export statistics show Thai organic rice exports reached 26,110 tons valued at 1.21 billion baht in 2025, an increase from 22,293 tons in 2024.
