Construction Site Manager Shoots Subordinate During Heated Argument

At 3:00 PM on February 4, 2024, police in Ubon Ratchathani were notified of a shooting at the Huay Wang Nong construction site. The victim, Prayad Jaikla, 40, was found dead next to a steel-carrying truck with a single .32 caliber gunshot wound to the left cheek. According to the victim's father, the shooter was Chanticit, 57, the site manager. Witnesses reported that the two had multiple verbal altercations earlier that day. During the final confrontation, Chanticit challenged Prayad to get out of his truck and allegedly tried to hit him with a gun, which accidentally discharged. After shooting Prayad, Chanticit initially fled the scene but later surrendered to police approximately 2 kilometers from the incident site. He claimed the shooting was unintentional and occurred while attempting to discipline the victim.
