Brutal Murder: Husband Kills Village Assistant Leader Despite Wife's Pleas for Mercy
On February 17th, police at Non Daeng Police Station were notified of a fatal assault. The incident occurred in front of a residence in Non Ta Thoe Subdistrict, where Akrachai, 49, was killed. Two suspects, Somchai, 50, and Supakorn, 62, from the same village, were arrested. The conflict originated from a previous argument on February 14th at a cassava field, where Somchai tried to mediate a dispute between Akrachai and his wife Khruawun, a village assistant leader. Akrachai had physically confronted Somchai, leading to a grudge. On the night of the incident, Somchai brought a friend and confronted Akrachai, attacking him with a hook knife and wooden club in front of his wife, who begged them to stop. Despite her pleas, they continued beating Akrachai until he was motionless.
