Impressive Success: Yang Talat Hospital Achieves 100% Colonoscopy Screening for Colorectal Cancer
On February 16th, Kalasin's Yang Talat Hospital launched its annual Colonoscopy screening project for colorectal cancer. Led by District Chief Ekarat Misa and hospital administrators, the program showcases impressive results from three years of screening. The hospital offers free screenings for citizens aged 50 and above, who are at higher risk of colorectal cancer. Over the past three years, the hospital screened 1,222 patients, identifying 19 colorectal cancer cases, with all patients successfully treated. Hospital Director Dr. Saman-mit Atnak emphasized that colorectal cancer is among the top three cancers in Thailand, and early detection can significantly reduce mortality rates. The screening uses methods like FIT TEST and Colonoscopy, with the latter being the most accurate and capable of immediate treatment.
