Caught! Sri Nakorn Thief Who Targeted Victim's Grieving Family

On February 5, 2024, Sri Nakorn police arrested Sarawut (last name withheld), a suspect who committed theft at multiple homes in the area. The suspect targeted a vulnerable elderly couple's home, taking advantage of the fact that the homeowner had recently passed away and the son was working in Bangkok. He had previously visited the home under the guise of buying items from their small shop, gaining the owners' trust. Using his previous familiarity with the property, he found a weakness through a window and stole items including a medicine cabinet and a sewing machine. Security camera footage captured his crime, leading the victim's son to file a police report. Police tracked the suspect to Khlong Yang sub-district in Swankhalok and recovered stolen items, subsequently arresting and charging him.
