Tawi Discusses 'P-Move' Platform: Urgent Poverty Alleviation, Student Debt Cancellation, and Constitutional Reform
Police Colonel Tawi Sodsong, leader of the Pracharath Party and prime ministerial candidate, shared insights from a recent P-Move network community forum at Thammasat University's Tha Phrachan campus. The forum focused on exchanging policies across 3 sets and 10 areas, including rights, land usage, and state welfare, with the goal of creating a sustainable and equal society.
Tawi emphasized that solving poverty must begin with education, which he considers the fundamental basis for sustainable problem-solving rooted in justice. The party's core policy is to push for free education up to the bachelor's degree level, ensuring that education creates a future without leaving behind a debt burden.
He described the Student Loan Fund (กยศ.) as one of the cruelest legal mechanisms, with a system focused on asset inspection and seizure that has become a heavy burden for citizens. The Pracharath Party proposes clearing student debt for over 3 million borrowers, having already attempted to modify laws to eliminate interest and penalties.
Despite resistance from the Senate, the party remains committed to the principle that education should not create debt, with the ultimate goal of restoring dignity and a better future for Thai youth.
"The Pracharath Party's work is not just about election activities, but a commitment to creating a crucial turning point for the country," Tawi stated. The party prioritizes constitutional reform to redistribute resources and create genuine equality.
Tawi confirmed the party's intention to restore justice to citizens affected by state policies, particularly addressing overlapping forest zones and land usage issues. If joining the government, they pledge to expedite land-related amnesty within 6 months.
