King and Queen Perform Ceremonial Offering for Chinese New Year 2024
King Rama X and Queen Suthida performed the ceremonial offering ritual for the Chinese New Year at 6:50 PM on February 17, 2024, at the Amphorn Sathan Throne Hall in Dusit Palace. During the ceremony, the King and Queen lit golden and silver candles, incense, and performed sacred offerings. They lit incense sticks, placed them on the offering table, and paid respects to sacred entities. After completing the ritual, they burned gold and silver paper as part of the traditional observance. This ceremonial practice originated during the reign of King Mongkut (Rama IV) and has been continued by subsequent monarchs as a way of showing gratitude to royal ancestors who have served the nation.
