Suphanat Names Contractor After Dome Collapse in Bang Phli, 4 Injured in 1.1 Billion Baht MEA Project
A large dome at the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) training and skills testing center in Bang Phli, Samut Prakan, collapsed severely in the morning, injuring 4 people. On February 9, 2026, Suphanat Minchainant, a Bangkok MP candidate from the People's Party, publicly questioned the contractor ST-TC about project accountability. He raised several points: when will the project notebook be completed, should the project be blacklisted, and should the Prime Minister cancel the contract similar to previous actions? The project, valued at 1,185 billion baht, was signed in 2024 when Anuthin was Minister of Interior overseeing MEA. The project involves construction of training center buildings and equipment installation at the Bang Phli MEA center.
