Police Raid and Arrest Armed Man Who Threatened Locals with Gunfire

At 3:00 PM on February 12, 2024, police officials from Surat Thani, including Pol. Maj. Gen. Suwat Suksri and other senior officers, led a special operations team to intervene with an armed man causing disturbances. The investigation began after villagers reported a man wielding firearms and creating fear in Moo 5, Bang Duean Subdistrict, Phun Phin District. After surrounding the two-story wooden house since February 11, police successfully entered the premises and arrested the suspect, identified as Mr. Somchok. They seized two firearms - a .357 handgun and a shotgun - and discovered the suspect had drugs in his system. He was subsequently handed over to Bang Maduea Police Station for legal processing.
