Chaos Erupts as Over 1,800 Runners Gather After Event Organizers Abandon Khao Yai Marathon
On February 14, 2026, chaos broke out at Khao Yai National Park when over 1,800 runners gathered for a charity marathon, only to find event organizers had disappeared without setting up any race markers or start points. Runners who had already paid registration fees were left stranded at the Khao Rom field near Sai Sorn Reservoir.
Chaiyya Huayhongtong, head of Khao Yai National Park, explained that while the organizers had obtained permission for the 'Khao Yai My Ozone Breeze Run 2026', they failed to meet the agreed-upon conditions and provide adequate facilities for participants. The park has now coordinated with Nakhon Nayok police, requesting runners to file reports at the local police station for further legal action. Despite the event being a charity run to purchase medical equipment, the organizers completely abandoned the event, causing significant frustration among participants.
