Tragic: Merchant Dies After Attempting to Rescue Belongings During House Fire
On February 22, 2024, Police Lieutenant Saichol Adjaj was notified of a house fire in Bueng Cha-O Sub-district, Nong Suea District, Pathum Thani Province, with one fatality. The incident involved an old extension used as a storage and bedroom area. Firefighters quickly controlled the blaze and discovered the body of Banjerd, a 62-year-old merchant. His wife Phayung recounted that around 2:00 AM, her husband had just returned from the market and lit a mosquito repellent for the dog before resting. When the fire broke out, he attempted to return to the bedroom to retrieve items, but the intense flames caused the roof to collapse, preventing any escape. Phayung tearfully mentioned that if she hadn't been focused on untying the dog, they might have escaped together.
