On February 4, 2024, cyber police led by senior officers executed a search warrant at a house in Lat Sawai, Lam Luk Ka District, Pathum Thani Province. They arrested a 35-year-old hotel employee named Wat (pseudonym) and seized an automatic 9mm weapon with 50 rounds of ammunition. The arrest was part of a broader police operation to suppress criminal activities and illegal weapons before the upcoming election. Police discovered Wat was a member of a secret Line group with over 400 members trading weapons and ammunition. Investigations revealed Wat had previously purchased ammunition three times, totaling over 300 rounds. During questioning, Wat claimed the weapon belonged to a relative and was only used for target practice at shooting ranges. He was detained and will face legal proceedings for possessing unauthorized firearms and ammunition.
