Maejo University and CP Collaborate on Wildfire Prevention Forest Project at ASCN & SUN 2025
Maejo University, in collaboration with Charoen Pokphand Group, presented the 'Wildfire-Free Forest Community Network Project' in Wiang Haeng District, Chiang Mai Province. The project aims to manage forest leaf debris by converting it into non-turned organic fertilizer, reducing open burning, forest fire risks, PM2.5 particles, and greenhouse gas emissions. The initiative successfully covered 10 community forests across 3 sub-districts, spanning over 10,875 rai, collecting more than 75 tons of leaves and producing over 84 tons of organic fertilizer while generating community income and sustainably managing forest resources.
