Crypto Mining Operation Busted in Chaiyaphum, Illegal Electricity Theft Exposed

A secret cryptocurrency mining operation was dismantled in Chaiyaphum when Police Major General Sujrit Panlek, along with Provincial Electricity Authority representatives, raided a rented house in Nai Fai Village, Mueang District. Investigators discovered abnormal electricity usage and found over 30 digital mining machines, with 15 fully operational and 15 in various stages of use. The house was rented by Ms. Phensi, 39, who claimed the tenant had rented the property for three years at 1,500 baht per month, regularly paying rent every three months. The house owner was unaware of the illegal mining operation, with the tenant claiming the space was used for storage and high electricity bills were due to air conditioning. Police are continuing investigations, checking nearby properties and planning to pursue legal action against those involved in the illegal electricity theft and cryptocurrency mining.
