Not Enough Apology! Rakchanok Furious, Demands Sawaeng's Resignation, Blasts Election Commission's Negligence
Rakchanok Srinok, a party-list candidate for the People's Party, delivered a scathing critique of the Election Commission (EC) on February 2nd, highlighting multiple serious election irregularities. She accused the EC of intentional misconduct, citing issues such as missing candidate signs in multiple provinces and incorrect ballot coding. Rakchanok also alleged that military camps were actively discouraging voting for certain parties, with reports of pre-election meetings where soldiers were instructed to avoid voting for specific political parties. She directly called for EC Secretary-General Sawaeng Boonmee to resign, stating that after three election cycles, he has failed to ensure a transparent and fair electoral process. Rakchanok emphasized that even small voting discrepancies could significantly impact election outcomes and the selection of the prime minister.
