Luxury Condo Buyers Complain: 13 Million Baht Beachfront Unit Fails to Meet Expectations
Residents are complaining about a luxury beachfront condominium worth over 13 million baht that fails to meet expectations, with numerous problems discovered after handover. The issues include air conditioning units that cannot cool properly, with three installed units failing to provide adequate cooling. The owners were forced to use fans constantly and discovered that the air conditioning's hot and cold coils were not functioning balanced.
Additional problems include bathroom floors positioned higher than room floors, causing water to flow back into the bedroom and damaging furniture. Doors have become swollen from moisture, and storage cabinets have developed mold.
During a mediation meeting at the Consumer Protection Office, the project's representatives only offered to repurchase the unit at its original sale price, rejecting additional compensation or repair requests. The owners' lawyer, Danuphol Nimitphong, emphasized that a high-value unit should meet promised standards and is seeking further recourse through consumer protection agencies.
