Football Community Mourns Sumeth Kaewthippanet, Legendary Club Founder
The football community has come together to mourn and remember Sumeth Kaewthippanet, the creator of Thamrong Thai Football Club who recently passed away peacefully. Known as 'Ajarn Meth', he had been absent from the Thai football scene for a long time and was in poor health during his later years. He created a legacy in Thai football by elevating a small club from lower divisions to higher leagues and was the first Thai coach to bring Brazilian players to play in Thailand. He established a football academy that developed many youth players who went on to join the national team, providing support and education for talented players from rural backgrounds. Sumeth was also the first Thai to send youth football teams to compete internationally in Europe and America, winning championships over 10 times and bringing honor to Thailand. Due to various pressures and declining health, he chose to live in a nursing home in the Dindeang area, where he was well cared for until his final moments. His body is laid at Wat Sammasanchayawat, Sala 3, Khlong Sam Wa District, Bangkok, with funeral rites scheduled from February 20-23.
