Alex Marquez Sets Fastest Time, Leads First Day of MotoGP Pre-Season Test
World-class motorcycle racers demonstrated their skills in front of enthusiastic Thai speed fans during the first day of pre-season testing at Chang International Circuit in Buriram. In the first day's test, all riders from every team worked intensively. In the morning, Marc Marquez, a 7-time world premier class champion from Ducati Lenovo Team, fell twice at turn 12 and suffered a minor arm scratch but was able to continue testing. Key riders from all teams were present, including Fabio Quartararo from Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP and Jorge Martin from Aprilia Racing. Alex Marquez, the Spanish runner-up from Gresini Racing, topped the first day's test with a lap time of 1 minute 29.262 seconds, narrowly beating his brother Marc Marquez from the Ducati factory team by just 0.129 seconds. Franco Morbidelli from VR46 Racing Team completed the top three. The pre-season test will continue for one more day on Sunday, February 22nd, before the first race of the Thailand Grand Prix at Chang International Circuit from February 27 to March 1.
