Horrific Incident: Son Kills Mother, Leaving Her Dead Inside Home

On February 2, 2024, Police Major Boromwit Wangnaikul from Phusang Police Station reported that at 10:30 PM on February 1, they received a report of a son killing his mother inside a house in Thung Kluay Subdistrict, Phusang District, Phayao Province. Investigators found the victim, Lee (surname withheld), 68, dead in a pool of blood with severe knife wounds to her head and hands. Fingers were severed and scattered. The suspect, identified as Keng (surname withheld), 33, the victim's son, fled immediately after the crime. Relatives reported he appeared to be in an altered state before attacking his mother with a 25-centimeter long curved knife. Police quickly tracked and arrested Keng at the edge of the village. Upon initial questioning, he confessed to killing his mother. Authorities will conduct a detailed investigation and file appropriate charges.
