Pakistan Erupts in Deadly Terrorist Attacks: 33 Killed in Coordinated Assaults
On February 1st, the Pakistani military reported multiple suicide bombings and shootings by terrorists in the southwestern Balochistan province. The attacks resulted in at least 33 deaths, with 18 civilians and 15 security personnel killed. Security agencies responded by eliminating 92 armed group members. Although Baloch separatists and Pakistani Taliban frequently target security forces, such coordinated attacks are rare. Pakistani authorities stated that at least 133 militants were killed in the past 48 hours, including 92 from the Saturday confrontation. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi claimed the attackers were supported by India, though Indian authorities have not yet commented on the allegation.
