Fire Breaks Out at Paint Mixing Factory, Explosions Heard Repeatedly
A fire broke out at a paint mixing factory, with over 10 firefighting units urgently responding to prevent the blaze from spreading. At 3:20 PM on February 18, 2024, police from Phanthong Police Station and firefighters from multiple areas rushed to the factory located in Moo 1, Phanthong Subdistrict, Phanthong District, Chonburi Province. After receiving reports of an intensifying fire within the paint mixing warehouse, responders found flames engulfing the paint mixing building, with numerous paint cans inside and periodic explosions. Firefighters aggressively worked to extinguish the fire, but after more than 40 minutes, they were still unable to control the blaze. According to the company's security guard, the exact cause remains unknown. A housekeeper working in the area reported hearing an explosion-like sound before seeing sparks that quickly spread into a full fire. Police will wait for firefighters to stabilize the situation and for forensic teams to collect additional evidence. Preliminary estimates suggest damages could reach millions of baht.
