17-Year-Old Pursues and Shoots Restaurant Manager Dead, Mother Weeps Wanting to Go to Jail Instead of Her Son

On February 4, 2024, police at Thanyaburi Police Station were notified of a shooting death near Khlong 6 Housing estate in Pathum Thani. Officers discovered a blue-white Yamaha Fino motorcycle at the scene and the body of 41-year-old Prasan, a barbecue restaurant manager, who was shot once in the back of the head. The suspect, identified as 17-year-old 'A', was arrested with a .38 caliber weapon. The mother revealed the incident stemmed from family conflicts, with her son becoming stressed by his parents' ongoing arguments. The teenage suspect confessed to the killing, stating that his parents' constant conflicts with the victim drove him to commit the act. The mother tearfully expressed her wish to serve her son's potential prison sentence, believing he still has a future ahead of him.
